Round 2 will be known as White Ribbon Round and will see all teams in all grades support White Ribbon day on the 25th November.
An initiative that the competition has supported previously this is an organisation that is working to prevent the most common and pervasive form of male violence – that towards women.
Players will be given a wrist band or white ribbon to wear during the round and swear the Oath...
I SWEAR NEVER TO COMMIT, EXCUSE OR REMAIN SILENT ABOUT VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN, THIS IS MY OATH

It's that time of the season where the weather gets warm, training is fun, you get itchy to get amongst it, and I start bothering you for your fees.
The committee has met and after some discussion have decided to leave the 2011-12 fees as they have been for the last few years:
Senior Mens: $440
Student / Concession*: $300
Senior Womens: $220
*Please note that if you are working full time and also studying that you are not considered eligible for the concession amount.
Payment is preferred by EFT to the club account below. Please use your name and "Fees" in the description (ie, ThompsonR Fees).
Note that if you have not paid your fees or entered into a written arrangement with Rowan Thompson or Dave Blackman by 31 October you will be deemed ineligible for selection, and your fees haven't been paid in full by the end of the season you will be put on the CricketNSW and CricketACT defaulters list.
New players will receive your training shirt, playing shirt and cap once you have either paid your fees or made an arrangement with Rowan (rowan.thompson@dbcde.gov.au) or Dave (david.blackman@treasury.gov.au)

The North Canberra Gungahlin Cricket Club is very excited to announce that Chris Cairns has signed up with the mighty eagles!
Chris, who recently moved to Canberra with his family, is keen to get involved both on and off the field, and has already met a few of the Northies boys at pre-season training.
Club President Phil Coe said "The signing of Cairns is exciting for the club. He will obviously bring a vast amount of playing experience from his 62-test career but it is his enthusiasm to be involved in all aspects of the club that has impressed us the most".
From a juniors perspective, Junior's Chairman Miles Boak said "It's exciting for the club as whole to have a player of Chris's caliber turning out for NCGCC. For the Juniors especially having someone who has done it all in cricket at your club is very special and we look forward to his involvement in some junior activities during the year".

Northies have taken out the 2011/11 4th Grade two day premiership chasing down 280 at Kingston Oval to claim a thrilling two wicket win.
3rd March, 2011
There have been some positive steps in the move towards making Harrison the all year round home of Northies following a meeting between NCGCC president Albert Eichholzer and Sport and Recreation. There is a chance that the club will have access to the clubhouse facilites before the end of this years finals series, watch this space for more information in the coming weeks.
2nd March, 2011
Heading into the last round of the two day competition, North Canberra Gungahlin sit within 45 points of the top spot in the 2010/11 Club Championship. A strong showing from all grades could see Northies claim the prestigous title for the first time since 2003/04. This is a fantastic effort and it reflects how much we have improved as a club over the past few seasons. Points in the club championship can only be earned for the regular season so this is our final chance to earn points.
17th January, 2011
3rd Grade was the only team to play on saturday and wrapped up a comfortable 6 wicket win against ANU. Bowling first Northies restricted ANU to 97 with Tommy Howes taking 3/20 and Dinesh 3/15. Northies cruised to victory with J-Mac guiding the top order with 42 and Andy Lamond belting 30 not out.
In the Konica T20 Quarter Final at Stirling, 1's limped to 103 off there 20 overs with Sammy Miller's 32 off 37 balls holding the innings together, before a determined bowling and fielding display left Weston Creek requiring 10 off the last over for victory. A terrific last over from Sam Gaskin edged Norths into the semis with a 1 run win.
All ACT Government grounds are closed today and tomorrow, however at this stage Sport & Rec anticipate leaving them open for the weekend and allowing each individual sport to determine what transpires on the weekend. Only a limited number of grounds have been mown, however of course it is the preparation of turf wickets which is the issue, as all grounds are closed today and tomorrow , it leaves no time to prepare a wicket for Saturday anyway.
Therefore all One Day Matches in First - Fifth Grade are cancelled this Saturday with each team to receive two points each.
Northies rising star Louis Rutzou has been selected to represent the ACT at the upcoming under 17 male national championships. This year's carnival will be held in Hobart from January 9 to 20. Well Done Louis!
All,
Due to severe hosing across Canberra, TAMS have cancelled all sporting events this weekend.

Late rain has denied the Bald Eagles an opportunity to chase down Queanbeyan's total at Freedbody. Michael 'Novacastrian' Kaminksi was the destroyer with the ball helping restrict Queanbeyan to 140 before rain stopped play with the Bald Eagles at 1/30. At Forestry the Golden Eagles encountered a red hot Eastlake side who finished 6/329 off their 40 overs before rain forced the game to be abandoned before the talented young Golden Eagles batting line up could show their skills.
At ANU North, a fluent half century by Pete 'Radders' Radford helped establish a 134 run lead over ANU, before five wickets to Heath 'Axe' Axelby on a crumbling wicket helped set up an outright victory. While at KT Park a clinical all-round performance helped the 2's record a comprehensive outright victory, having declared 269 runs ahead courtesy of a half century to Gordon 'G' McGurk. Charlie 'Chook' Eichholzer and Ryan 'The Business' Bissell led the way with the ball to bowl out ANU for 110.
In 3's a classy maiden grade ton by talented youngster Liam Greenwood was the highlight of a solid victory at ANU south. While Steve 'Google' Moore led the way in 4's with 4/39 to wrap up what was a positive weekend for the blue and gold.
For a summary of the weekend's scores check out the results page here.

Your NCGCC Management Committee is pleased to announce the signing of Andrew Barnett for the 2010/11 season. Andrew is a fast bowler from Staffordshire and comes to Northies highly recommended. We look forward to seeing him in action.
With respect to the new Harrison ovals, nets, and pavilion, things are looking good. The ovals and nets should be completed in time for preseason outdoor training and the club house will be handed over prior to the season starting. At this stage the square is taking a little bit longer to knit than hoped, but we still hope that some games may be played this season.

North Canberra Gungahlin Cricket Club is a community focused cricket club who provide an environment where cricketers of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels can enjoy their cricket and develop their skills.
We participate in CricketACT Mens, Womens and Juniors competitions. We have approximately 150 senior members and supporters and 22 junior teams and more than 100 "in2cricket" participants (aged 8 years and younger) making us the largest Cricket Club in the ACT. Historically we have been based in close proximity to the centre of Canberra and over the last decade have developed a strong presence in the growth suburbs of Gungahlin. We have recently opened our new Clubroom and Ovals at Harrison, while still retaining our traditional home grounds of Keith Tournier Memorial Oval and Reid Oval.
