The North Canberra Gungahlin Cricket Club Annual General Meeting will be held in late August. An official announcement with exact dates will be made within the next two weeks.
Your NCGCC Management Committee is pleased to announce the signing of Andrew Barnett for the 2010/11 season. Andrew is a fast bowler from Staffordshire and comes to Northies highly recommended. We look forward to seeing him in action.
With respect to the new Harrison ovals, nets, and pavilion, things are looking good. The ovals and nets should be completed in time for preseason outdoor training and the club house will be handed over prior to the season starting. At this stage the square is taking a little bit longer to knit than hoped, but we still hope that some games may be played this season.
Finally, preseason training will commence in August. Details will be emailed and posted on this website when they are finalised.
Fellow Northies Superstars,
The Pirate Pub Run is being run again this year and just like last year the Pirate Pub Run will be a player sponsor for the coming season.
This means that any Northies players who attends the Pirate Pub Run this year will be in the running to be sponsored by the Pirate Pub Run which includes your playing fees paid for the season.
Unfortunately for you younger superstars this is a 18+ event due to the fact that we are going to a bunch of pubs but I'm sure it will be soon enough that you will be ready to join in on the fun and I'm sure there will be other events organised through out the year for you to get involved in.
Remember there are limited spots as lots of people are going from last year so if you are keen you need to get in sooner rather than later. Here are the details:
Yarrr Pirates and Wenches,
As a previous participant at Pirate Pub Run, ye been lucky enough to be invited to the 6th annual Pirate Pub Run taking place on ye heavy Canberee seas. For those of ye who have been on a voyage before will know how treacherous but fun this voyage can be. For ye first timers, ya better bring ya sea legs and ya better be in a pirate or wench costume or ya will see the back of Red Dog's sword. That doesn't excuse you lot who've been on a voyage previously, ya know the rules and if ya don't comply, what the punishment will be. No-one want to be Piss Boy or Monkey Boy on this Pirate Pub Run.
Thar be a voyage tax to be incurred again this year as I be organisin' our own personal long boat for some of the voyage and thar be food involved at ports along the way as well. It be 35 gold pieces.
As with past voyages, ye will need a pillaging name. If ya been on last years voyage, ye have first dibs on ye pirate or wench name. If ye want to change ye wench name, ye can but Red Dog Roy will always be Red Dog Roy.
As with last year, there be 110 spots of the Pirate Pub Run this year. I be selling tickets to Pirates this year so it be first in first served. Send me an email to mattjeppo@gmail.com and I'll update my list from there.
NB: Once I receive your email, I will send you an email with the bank details to make the payment to. Spots won't be confirmed until payment has been received.
Oh and we already have 20 people on the list.
Yarr!!
Red Dog Roy
